Its location in front of a basilica and a cathedral was good and magnificent. There were very comfy beds and an individual safe, climate control and a minibar inside the room. The personnel was excellent and best, and the owner too. We had really really nice time at the hotel and would absolutely stay here again.

Hotel is very well located. Very clean. Good air conditioning. Good breakfast. Very good relation price x product. The cornerstone in Amalfi is the people in the staff. Everyone is gentile, warm and attentious. Believe, it makes great difference. Very good choice in Rome. Look for Mr. Cosimo, Mr. Francesco, Sra. Paola or Mr. Giuseppe at nigth. All good and nice people.

The location was great! It was only approximately 10 minute walk from the train station, which is great if you're travelling to different areas. When we arrived, the man at the front desk was extremely helpful. He was very polite and had a nice sense of humour. He had maps available at the hotel which was great! He took the map and highlighted routes (in different colors :)) to all the sites we wanted to see. The view from our window was very cool, we could see the church and square on our left. The breakfast was standard for the area, 2 cereals (flakes & granola), yogurt, bread, pastry, rolls, cheese, ham, salami, coffee, tea, etc.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like about this hotel actually. Some might have found the following annoying though: pillows were really, really flat (although we didn't actually mind); bathroom small, only standup shower (again, didn't really bother us). When you opened the window it was really loud, but that is to be expected, location is in a big city...again something we didn't really care. Once the window was closed, couldn't hear a thing.

it was 10 minute walk from train station so no taxi fares to pay!!!
the walls of the rooms are very thin making them very noisy. we asked to change rooms and were told the neighbouring guests were leaving but then new guests arrived and were even nosier!! we asked again to change rooms and moved to the 4th floor which was a bit better.

I stayed in Hotel Amalfi in 2006 and I was delighted to find that I was able to stay here again this year. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has 24 hour cover for any late arrivals or late nights out. Majority of residents using the hotel are mature couples/single people. There is only bed and breakfast service, but the surrounding area has a wide selection of restaurants available for meals day and night. There is now a choice of cereals and cheese/meat for breakfast, which also covers various other snacks and foods available on a continental breakfast style. There is a lift available although some rooms still have stairs only access. A free WiFi service is available. Single and double rooms are available, and there are no single supplementary charges made. My single room was spacious, although the bathroom was small. Cupboard space is ideal for short stay visits, and although I struggled with this space on my 10 nights visit, I was easily able to cope. City tax of 2 euros per night applies and must be paid in cash when you check out. The Hotel Amalfi is very centrally located for most of the top tourist attractions, and it is within 5 minutes walk of Termini for all trains, buses and Metro services. All in all the Hotel Amalfi is ideal and I will definitely stay here again.
No complaints whatsoever!
